Celebrities in the news in the comics
I don't normally do the celebrity obit beat, and don't have any particular emotional connection to the work of the three most famous celebrities who died in the past week, but I guess it's a sign that I read too many comics that one of the first things that came to mind were some comic book cameos each of them had (and those below are hardly the only ones for each).
Among Ed McMahon's achievements was being drawn by the great Joe Kubert in an veteran's charity ad that featured Sgt. Rock:

Farrah Fawcett's name lent itself to parody by Roy Thomas, Scott Shaw! and Chad Grothkopf in CAPTAIN CARROT #4, as Fara Foxette:

The character might be even better known from young fan Arthur Adams rendition a few months later in #12, before he became a professional comic book type:

Michael Jackson's comic book appearances are legion, but one of the oddest has to be the futuristic robot that shows up in NEXUS MEETS MADMAN by Mike Baron, Mike Allred and Steve Rude:
